Community News: Adoption fees reduced to $17.76 for dogs and cats 1 year and older in celebration of Independence Day
In celebration of Independence Day, The Animal Foundation is reducing adoption fees for all dogs and cats 1
year and older to just $17.76 beginning Thursday, July 3 through Sunday, July 6 during the Star Spangled
Pettacular adoption special. More than 250 animals qualify for the discounted adoption fees, which include
spay/neuter, microchip, up to date vaccines and more.
“If you’re looking to open your heart and home to a furry friend, visit us this weekend to meet some of our
incredible, adoptable pets,” said Meghan Scheibe, marketing and public relations manager for The Animal
Foundation. “In addition to finding incredible homes for our wonderful animals, we hope that this special
will help to create space for the new animals we’re anticipating receiving as a result of pets becoming lost
on July 4th.”
More pets become lost on July 4 than any other day of the year, and the days immediate following the holiday
are the highest intake days of the year for The Animal Foundation and shelters across the country. On average,
The Animal Foundation takes in 110 new animals every day. On the days following Independence Day, the daily
intake can double.
The Star Spangled Pettacular Adoption Special is valid July 3-6 at The Animal Foundation’s adoption centers:
● Campus Adoption Center (655 N. Mojave Road, Las Vegas) open 11 am-7 pm daily
● PetSmart Charities Everyday Adoption Center (286 W. Lake Mead Parkway, Henderson) open Monday-Saturday, 9 am-8 pm,
and Sunday 9 am-7 pm (closing 6pm on July 4)
In addition to the Star Spangled Pettacular adoption special, The Animal Foundation is reducing the cost of microchips
to $10 (50% off) now through July 6 at its Low-Cost Vaccine Clinic to encourage pet owners to protect their pets in the event
they become lost on July 4 or in the future.
